"NEXT ON THE TEE"

Been on a wild ride the last couple weeks.

Wednesday July 10th I played in Rutland at the Rutland CC, very nice course and we played under a little threat of rain all day, but not bad considering the weather we had been getting all spring.

Not much to say about the round since I played about average for me so it was up to others where I finished.

There were a few birdies on the course but for me they were in the river which ran through the course.

I played with Matty Duplessis and Logan Ripley both guys I had never played with, or against, before.

I finished 1st in my bracket for the day, but like most participates who play this game I felt like I left a couple of strokes on the course, and today was no exception.

We left Rutland and headed right on over to Gardner MA. for a USK Tournament the very next day at Gardner CC. a course for some reason I never enjoyed playing, and never had a lot of success regarding score there but did play well enough today to win.

We spent the night in a nice motel there and even got in some pool time and a good nights sleep before heading to the course the next morning.

I played in a twosome there with Joshua Broderick Philips a boy I had played with before.
The round started out well and I even had an eagle putt attempt on the 3rd hole but missed it for an easy birdie, which turned out to be about the only highlight of the day, other than winning of course.

Nice Spot.

After the round we headed on back to VT.
We got in some playing and practice over the weekend before heading back down to Leicester MA. Monday morning bright and early.
~

We left home at about 5:30 AM for our drive down, we had a full house with Mom, Dad, Me, Riley, Patsy and Pop Pop all going down.

We got down there early enough to get in a little practice time before the round, and even early on in the day it was HOT down there.

I was playing with L~R
Me, Matt D'Errico, Harrison Choi

Pop Pop was caddying for me and somehow during the round we (the group) got put on the clock for slow play only because of a couple of lost balls in my group, so we had to race to make up time in order to keep on pace to avoid penalty strokes.

In my haste I made a couple of quick shots that ended up costing me some shots anyway, but I still managed to win since the course was playing hard for everyone and so I eked out a victory.
Victory is not as sweet if you feel like you didn't play up to your potential and today was one of those days.

We left there and made the long trek back to VT. where we dropped off Dad and Riley and I went on home with Patsy and Pop Pop to spend the night in order work on my game the next day at my old home course at Orleans CC. which was in great shape and dryer than Barre CC.

Went on home Tuesday night and we had to saddle it up and head over to VT National CC (The Bear) in Williston for another Coca Cola Tour event Wednesday July 17th.

Nice not to have a real long travel before the round so you don't at least start out the round tired.
I played with a couple of boys I had never played with before Sam King, from Barton whose Dad owns the Barton Golf Course,  and Logan Broyles who is a member at Rutland CC where we had played last week.

I like this course but I usually struggle a little bit there for some reason but played pretty good this day.
I had one errant drive that cost me a stroke along with the usual mental lapses which we all have but shot a 76 which is a decent score.

I won my bracket there and then ate lunch and went to the Pro Shop to spend my winnings before heading back to East Montpelier.

Thursday on a spur of the moment we entered a 9 hole NEK event up at the Newport CC, in a local event.

I had not played this course or even seen it since I was about 5 yr's old.
I played just ok and finished in 2nd place.
A. Giroux from Newport who was 14 yr's old and a member at Newport won so I don't feel real bad about my finish.

I am off now until Tuesday when our Match Play event starts at Cedar Knoll, this is a 3 day event, if you win, otherwise it might be a 2 day event.
Once that is over we go directly to Pinehurst NC. for the World Championship, which between practice rounds and tournament round's we'll be there a full week.
